About The OpportunityKing Street Medical is a leading and trusted practice who are committed to excellence in patient care. The role of a medical receptionist is an integral part of a healthcare team. The reception team are relied upon to ensure the smooth running of the clinic.
As the medical receptionist, you will need to be energetic and have a can do attitude.
2 positions available - Our team is growing and we are looking for an experienced full-time medical receptionist and 1 enthusiastic and flexible casual team members.
- 1 x Fulltime (38 hours per week)
- 2 x casual
- Scheduling appointments, greeting & checking out patients
- Answer the telephone in a courteous and professional manner
- Maintain medical records and patient billings accurately
- Handle cash, EFTPOS and other payments and adhere to practice billing policy
- Scan and file documents
- Open, stamp and distribute incoming mail, emails and faxes
- Type documents as required, with a high level of accuracy
- Receive and convey messages in writing, verbally and electronically
- Liaise with patients and their families in a compassionate manner
- Book and organise staff and/or doctors’ meetings as directed
- Perform other reception duties as directed by the Practice Manager or Principal Doctor/s.
- Participate in ongoing professional development
- Previous medical reception experience or willingness to learn
- Strong computer literacy with the ability to quickly learn computer software
- Exceptional customer service experience
- The ability to build positive working relationships
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Be flexible with their hours of work
- The ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Be able to balance competing priorities and tasks whilst maintaining a timely service
- The ability to work independently, and also work productively within a team environment.
Desirable Skills
- Previous experience with Best Practice and HotDoc software systems
- CPR training undertaken within the past three years or willingness to participate in training
