About The Opportunity

King Street Medical is a leading and trusted practice who are committed to excellence in patient care. The role of a medical receptionist is an integral part of a healthcare team. The reception team are relied upon to ensure the smooth running of the clinic.

As the medical receptionist, you will need to be energetic and have a can do attitude.

2 positions available - Our team is growing and we are looking for an experienced full-time medical receptionist and 1 enthusiastic and flexible casual team members.

  • 1 x Fulltime (38 hours per week)
  • 2 x casual

Receptionist Responsibilities Will Include

  • Scheduling appointments, greeting & checking out patients
  • Answer the telephone in a courteous and professional manner
  • Maintain medical records and patient billings accurately
  • Handle cash, EFTPOS and other payments and adhere to practice billing policy
  • Scan and file documents
  • Open, stamp and distribute incoming mail, emails and faxes
  • Type documents as required, with a high level of accuracy
  • Receive and convey messages in writing, verbally and electronically
  • Liaise with patients and their families in a compassionate manner
  • Book and organise staff and/or doctors’ meetings as directed
  • Perform other reception duties as directed by the Practice Manager or Principal Doctor/s.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development

The Successful Candidate Will Have

  • Previous medical reception experience or willingness to learn
  • Strong computer literacy with the ability to quickly learn computer software
  • Exceptional customer service experience
  • The ability to build positive working relationships
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Be flexible with their hours of work
  • The ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Be able to balance competing priorities and tasks whilst maintaining a timely service
  • The ability to work independently, and also work productively within a team environment.

We are looking for someone who is able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills!

Desirable Skills

  • Previous experience with Best Practice and HotDoc software systems
  • CPR training undertaken within the past three years or willingness to participate in training

We are a 7 day medical practice - weekend shifts may/will apply.
