About the Role
onpsych' is seeking an experienced Student Wellbeing Officer to join our team in the Chapman Valley Region North-east of Geraldton, Western Australia. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for providing wellbeing support services to students, promoting their overall wellbeing and mental resilience. This role will encompass three schools located an average distance of 80km apart within the Chapman Valley. The contract nature is casual paid per hour however the working hours will be full-time and aligned with the school calendar (school working hours and school holidays).
What You'll Be Doing
- Develop and implement tailored wellbeing programs and initiatives to address the diverse needs of students
- Provide one-on-one counselling and mentoring to students, offering guidance on personal, social and academic issues
- Collaborate with teachers, parents and other stakeholders to identify and address student needs
- Coordinate referrals to external support services as required
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of student wellbeing services
What We're Looking For
- Tertiary qualifications in counselling, psychology, social work, education or a related field are desired but the minimum requirement is a Cert IV Certificate in Mental Health (or equivalent)
- Demonstrated experience in a student support or wellbeing role within an educational setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students
- Thorough understanding of student development and the challenges they may face
- Commitment to promoting inclusive and equitable practices
- Willingness to commute between the schools
