Job DescriptionAbout the Role:
Reporting to the Community Engagement Coordinator Tasmania, this role is central to the success of our Fundraising Team. You’ll take the lead in building and strengthening relationships with schools, corporate groups, community organisations, and local stakeholders to support and expand our community fundraising efforts.
You'll also play a key role in strategic event delivery, oversee the Mini and Model Dogs Collection Program in Northern Tasmania, and help grow and support a vibrant network of volunteers. Your work will directly impact our ability to provide life-changing services to Tasmanians with vision impairment.
This is a permanent part-time role of 0.8FTE.
Key responsibilities:
- Support the development and maintenance of strong relationships with schools, community groups, corporates, and other external partners.
- Promote the work of Guide Dogs and VisAbility through events and local partnerships and help identify new donors and fundraising partners.
- Develop and deliver educational presentations, workshops, and information sessions in collaboration with the Community Engagement Coordinator, targeting stakeholders across Northern Tasmania, including schools, businesses, and partners.
- Assist in growing and managing relationships that support our fundraising goals.
- Recruit, train, and support our team of fundraising and events volunteers.
- Keep records of stakeholder interactions and event outcomes to help us measure our impact and refine our approach.
- Provide high-level admin support across community fundraising campaigns, donor engagement, and event logistics.
- Maintain accurate records of community contacts, partnerships, and volunteer involvement.
Essential Skills and Attributes:
- Proven experience in community engagement and/or partnership building
- A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
- Able to build and maintain effective relationships with a variety of stakeholders
- Confident in public speaking and delivering presentations
- Results-driven, with a passion for expanding the organisation's reach and community impact
- Organised, proactive, and collaborative
- Available to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends or evenings for events
Required Compliance Documentation
- National Police Clearance
- Working with Vulnerable People check ( NDIS endorsed)
- Valid Driver’s licence
