This role features a hybrid work arrangement, with four days in the office to promote collaboration, build strong connections, and enhance team engagement. The Safety & Injury Management Coordinator supports the implementation of workplace health and safety initiatives, manages workers’ compensation claims, and coordinates return-to-work programs. This role involves promoting hazard identification, ensuring compliance with WHS legislation, and fostering a culture of safety across the organisation.We are looking for a detail-oriented professional with experience in injury management and WHS practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with managers, insurers, and regulatory bodies. Key Responsibilities
- WHS Support & Compliance
- Assist in implementing WHS strategies, initiatives, and risk management frameworks.
- Maintain accurate documentation for WHS programs, including incident reports and regulatory notifications.
- Support staff and managers with fire safety and first aid compliance.
- Promote proactive hazard identification and risk reduction in the workplace.
- Support managers in risk assessments and serious injury investigations, including liaising with Worksafe Regulators.
- Manage a wide variety of workers compensation claims with varying levels of complexity
- Liaise with injured employees, managers, medical professionals, and WorkCover case managers.
- Promote an early return-to-work culture by supporting employees through their rehabilitation journey.
- Facilitate timely implementation and renewal of WorkCover policies for new and existing locations.
- Collate and submit financial and wage data to insurers and brokers within renewal deadlines.
- Maintain comprehensive claims and rehabilitation documentation.
- Provide timely and accurate WHS reporting and contribute to monthly bulletins and newsletters.
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or equivalent.
- Certification in Rehabilitation or Return-to-Work Coordination with practical experience.
- Strong understanding of WHS legislation and injury management processes.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with managers, insurers, and regulatory bodies.
- Desirable: Queensland Fire Advisor Certification.
