This role features a hybrid work arrangement, with four days in the office to promote collaboration, build strong connections, and enhance team engagement. The Safety & Injury Management Coordinator supports the implementation of workplace health and safety initiatives, manages workers’ compensation claims, and coordinates return-to-work programs. This role involves promoting hazard identification, ensuring compliance with WHS legislation, and fostering a culture of safety across the organisation.We are looking for a detail-oriented professional with experience in injury management and WHS practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with managers, insurers, and regulatory bodies. Key Responsibilities

  • WHS Support & Compliance
  • Assist in implementing WHS strategies, initiatives, and risk management frameworks.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for WHS programs, including incident reports and regulatory notifications.
  • Support staff and managers with fire safety and first aid compliance.
Hazard & Risk Management
  • Promote proactive hazard identification and risk reduction in the workplace.
  • Support managers in risk assessments and serious injury investigations, including liaising with Worksafe Regulators.
Injury Management & Return-to-Work Programs
  • Manage a wide variety of workers compensation claims with varying levels of complexity
  • Liaise with injured employees, managers, medical professionals, and WorkCover case managers.
  • Promote an early return-to-work culture by supporting employees through their rehabilitation journey.
WorkCover Policy Management
  • Facilitate timely implementation and renewal of WorkCover policies for new and existing locations.
  • Collate and submit financial and wage data to insurers and brokers within renewal deadlines.
Reporting & Administration
  • Maintain comprehensive claims and rehabilitation documentation.
  • Provide timely and accurate WHS reporting and contribute to monthly bulletins and newsletters.
Skills, Attributes, and Experience:
  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or equivalent.
  • Certification in Rehabilitation or Return-to-Work Coordination with practical experience.
  • Strong understanding of WHS legislation and injury management processes.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with managers, insurers, and regulatory bodies.
  • Desirable: Queensland Fire Advisor Certification.
