About the opportunity
The Centre for Disability Research and Policy (CDRP) is a Faculty of Medicine and Health Impact Centre, whose mission is to make life better for people with disability in Australia and our region. CDRP is highly engaged with the disability policy and services sector and is grounded in an understanding of the importance of lived experience of disability as a basis for research and policy. Because we recognise that lived experience knowledge is critical to our work, a key part of our strategy is the career development of researchers with disability.
The Centre for Disability Research and Policy (CDRP) is seeking to employ a Senior Administration Officer to manage general administrative support for the designated work area, ensuring the delivery of efficient and effective administrative services. The Senior Administrative Officer will work under broad supervision from the center manager, performing tasks as directed and in accordance with defined responsibilities. They choose appropriate methods of work and plan and prioritise tasks. They also resolve routine matters related to responsibilities and collaborate with others to resolve complex matters.
Your key responsibilities will be to:

Manage general administrative services and operational support for the work area, ensuring high quality and efficient administrative support

resolve complex matters and ensure appropriate, efficient action is taken for matters brought to the work area
-
provide high level administrative coordination in relation to diary, events, travel, and accommodation management for the work area
-
facilitate timely report submission, uphold data integrity according to university systems, and partner with manager to advance compliance initiatives
-
coordinate purchasing processes and resolve any discrepancies in payment schedules
-
participate in the development and implementation of strategic and operational plans
-
take the lead in handling internal and external stakeholder communications, ensuring that concerns are addressed effectively and timely while fostering a culture of trust and collaboration within the work area and beyond

provide other general administrative support to the work area, including coordinating research meetings, preparing agendas and minutes, and organising events, research conferences and seminar
-
undertake other duties and projects appropriate within the classification level as required.
About you
-
Bachelor degree or equivalent combination of relevant training and experience
-
the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, taking initiative and exercising sound judgement in resolving matters that may arise as part of normal daily work
-
excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
-
administrative experience in a tertiary organisation, working knowledge of academic institutions, structures, and the higher education sector
-
experience in a research-intensive environment, or interest in working in academia
-
proven experience using Microsoft suite
-
2-4 years prior experience in similar position
-
lived experience of disability, direct or indirect, or disability confidence that you can draw on to understand the values and the work of the centre (desirable).
