THE ROLE

JD Sports is on the lookout for a Learning & Development Specialist to join our team in this newly created role!

The Learning & Development Specialist will be responsible for creating and delivering impactful training programs, maintaining and writing SOPs, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives for our Leppington Distribution Centre team.

This role plays a key part in building leadership capability, developing a skilled workforce, and ensuring teams are prepared to meet customer demand—especially during peak periods through effective planning and training of our contingent workforce.

Reporting into the Head of People Development, this role is responsible for but not limited to:

Training & Development

  • Design and manage training programs aligned with the training matrix and compliance requirements
  • Design and deliver induction and onboarding for employees and agency staff to ensure a seamless transition
  • Partner with Warehouse Management to coach underperforming employees and improve efficiency and quality
  • Track, measure, and report progress on training effectiveness and performance improvements
  • Support leadership growth through targeted training programs and coaching sessions
  • Promote open communication to address training needs and drive engagement initiatives

Employee Engagement

  • Foster a positive, inclusive work culture aligned with company values for all stakeholders at every touchpoint

Standard Work Practices

  • Develop, implement, and maintain standardised work practices for consistency and efficiency
  • Regularly review, update, and retrain SOPs to reflect process improvements and automation updates
  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify inefficiencies and implement sustainable solutions to improve results

WHO YOU ARE

  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a training role (within an automated warehouse or similar environment preferred)
  • Proven track record of leading lean improvement projects and delivering measurable efficiencies
  • Previous experience designing, building and facilitating training programs
  • Strong experience in Canva and PowerPoint creating training resources
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations and automation processes
