Lead, Operate and Improve
We are seeking a Leading Hand Quarry Operator at our Byford Quarry to support the daily quarry extraction operations. This hands-on role is ideal for a skilled operator with leadership potential who is eager to take on more responsibility and grow within the company.
Working closely with the Quarry Manager and Supervisory team, you will play a key role in ensuring efficient and safe operations, maintaining compliance, and mentoring your team.
What You’ll Be Doing
Support day-to-day quarry operations, ensuring production and safety targets are metOperate a variety of mobile plant equipment (loaders, haul trucks, excavators, etc.)Assist in training and mentoring quarry team membersMonitor equipment conditions and assist in coordinating maintenance activitiesEnsure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulationsPromote a safe, efficient, and team-focused work cultureWork collaboratively with site leadership and other teams to meet operational goals
About You
Experience in quarrying, mining, or a similar heavy industry (leadership experience a plus)Competency in operating heavy machinery used in extraction operationsStrong commitment to workplace safety and risk managementA proactive and team-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvementAbility to multi-task and make effective decisions under pressureEager to learn and take on new challenges in a supportive environment
