Our City Works team is looking for a self-motivated, hardworking and experienced individual to fill the position of Plant Operator. The role involves undertaking construction and maintenance of the City’s roads, car parks, drainage and shared paths infrastructure in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner and to agreed quality standards.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Experience in road, car park, drainage and shared path construction
  • Practical experience with the operation of road construction equipment, tools and plant
  • Roller Operator’s Accreditation Certificate
  • Loader Operator’s Accreditation Certificate
  • Tracked Skid Steer Operators Accreditation Certificate
  • Current unrestricted “HR” (Heavy Rigid) class national driver’s licence
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
  • Knowledge of safe operation and user maintenance of plant, equipment and heavy vehicles
  • Team player
  • Literacy and numerical skills
  • Ability to operate electronic devices, such as smartphones and tablets

In addition to the above, the following will be highly regarded:

  • Current certificate in Basic Worksite Traffic Management (desirable)
  • Current Traffic Controller accreditation (desirable)
  • Chainsaw Operator Ticket (desirable)
  • Current Senior First Aid Certificate (desirable)
  • Excavator and Watercart Ticket (desirable)
  • As part of our recruitment process, you will be required to participate in a full pre-employment medical that includes drug and alcohol testing.

This fulltime Level 3 position attracts a salary range of $72,795 - $75,503 gross per annum dependent on qualifications and experience.
