The Opportunity
The Shire of Murray is looking for an experienced Bushfire Risk Mitigation Officer, this role will be critical in the development and maintenance of the Shire of Murray Bushfire Risk Mitigation Plans, determine the bushfire risk levels and implement required bushfire risk treatment options ultimately reducing the bushfire risk to the Shire of Murray community.
This is a full-time position working 76 hours per fortnight. The salary component, based on the EBA Level 8 salary range, will be between $94,425.58 and $99,226.61 per annum, depending on skills and experience.

We want to hear from you if you have:
- Sound knowledge and experience with the Bushfire Risk Mitigation and Management industry, including the development and review of Bushfire Risk Mitigation Plans, Prescribed Bushfire Burning Prescriptions, assessment of SPP 3.7-Bushfire Risk Management Plans together with the implementation of Bushfire Risk Mitigation Treatments.

Sound knowledge and experience with preparation of external grant funding applications and associated project delivery, such as Mitigation Activity Fund, Disaster Resilience Fund.

Develop and review corporate documents including BRMP's, Emergency Response Plans and Emergency Management Arrangements.

Demonstrated conceptual, analytical and problem‐solving skills including understanding and experience in application of bushfire and emergency risk management principles.

Well-developed verbal communication skills with the ability to provide internal and external presentations, successfully assist and provide advice to key stakeholders, professional bodies, developers and other internal and external customers.
