ABOUT THE ROLE:

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated person who is an experienced Coordinator with a passion for making a difference in the lives of families and children.
The Coordinator is responsible for the delivery and quality management of the Children's Contact Service in Dubbo. The successful applicant will be instrumental in driving positive social change for separated families and children, with the support and structure of a family-oriented organisation with close to 100 years in quality service delivery and experience.
Interrelate's Children's Contact Service (CCS) offers a child-focused place for children and their families to spend time together. It provides a safe, neutral, and flexible service for parents, children, and their families. It helps support children's connection and positive relationship building with family members who they do not live with or connect with outside of our service. It is a place for parents to engage in safe and friendly change-over / change-back arrangements, and supervised contact visits in a safe and positive family environment.


KEY DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Coordinate the delivery of Children's Contact Service
  • Actively promote the service through networking within the community
  • Provide leadership, support development, and clinical supervision to a small team of Contact Workers
  • Prepare staff rosters, schedule and arrange team meetings and group supervision
  • Undertake recruitment, induction and training for the Children's Contact Service
  • Complete observation reports, and conduct ongoing assessment, case planning, monitoring and review of families through the service
  • Conduct intakes and ongoing assessment, case planning, monitoring and review of families through the service; develop family case management plans and client goals to instruct case management plans
  • Follow child protection procedures, complete risk assessment and procedures

This position is based in our Dubbo office, and is a Fixed Term contract until 30 June 2026, working 75 hours per fortnight. You will be available to work some evenings, participate in an on-call weekend rotating roster and on occasion work a weekend shift if required. A drivers licence is essential, and access to a car is highly desirable.
This role is in line with a SCHADS Award Level 6, $58.11 per hour (Mon-Fri), $87.16 per hour (Sat).

KEY ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or related discipline
  • Experience working in a Children's Contact Service and/or with families and children experiencing separation, family breakdown and high levels of family conflict
  • Leadership skills, including responsibility for staff development and training in one or more areas of clinical work, e.g. counselling, dispute resolution, relationship education, children's services, men's programs, family law etc.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of child development, child protection and the Office of the Children's Guardian's National Child Safe Standards
  • Experience in providing culturally appropriate support to meet specific needs of First Nations, LGBTQIA+ and/or Culturally & Linguistically Diverse families
  • Experience working with families within a case management setting
  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM) competency and IT savviness
  • Report writing, case notes, data collection and data entry experience
  • Relationships with the local community and networking confidence
  • Awareness of Family Law Court procedures
  • Current First Aid Certificates as follows: Provide CPR (HLTAID009), Provide Basic Emergency Life Support (HLTAID010), Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) and Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting (HLTAID012), or willingness to attain them within the first month of employment.
