About the Role:
As the Victorian Safety Manager, you will lead the development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of safety processes across our VIC locations. Your role will be critical in promoting a culture of safety, mitigating risks, reducing injuries and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation. You will collaborate with all departments to develop tailored safety strategies and action plans that align with Timbertruss' commitment to providing a safe working environment for all employees.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop and maintain company-wide safety policies and procedures, ensuring consistency across all Timbertruss sites in Victoria.
- Work in conjunction with the Queensland Safety Manager.
- Lead regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Drive the continuous improvement of Safety systems and processes, ensuring compliance with national and state legislative requirements, and industry best practices.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs for all Timbertruss team members.
- Support and lead workplace investigations workplace incidents and accidents, preparing detailed reports and recommending safety improvements.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on all safety-related risks, matters and issues.
- Ensure all safety-related documentation is accurate, on time, up-to-date, and accessible.
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, customers and relevant industry contacts supporting Timbertruss' commitment to safety.
- Lead the HSR team creating a positive safety culture.
Key Requirements:
- Formal qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety (i.e. Diploma of WHS, Cert IV WHS, or similar).
- Proven experience in a WHS management role, ideally within the manufacturing, or similar industry.
- Strong understanding of Australian WHS legislation and regulations.
- Experience with risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety audits.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and influence employees at all levels.
- Ability to develop and implement effective safety programs.
- Strong organisational and leadership skills.
