We provide services and supports to adults, and families with accompanying children in the form of accommodation, case management, assertive outreach, financial assistance, community connection and referral services.
The Salvation Army (Salvos) provides a wide range of services that support women and women with children impacted by family and domestic violence. We offer accommodation, counselling, support, behavioural programs, and advice to women and children at risk of, experiencing or escaping family violence. Our services focus on prevention, restoration and healing to provide specialised support to address immediate safety issues and provide advice, referrals, and connection to assist the recovery journey.
About The Role
We are seeking a dedicated Initial Assessment & Planning Worker to provide rapid crisis intervention and interim support to people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness to access safe and affordable housing.
Reporting to the Team Leader this is a Permanent part-time role, located South West Hamilton, Victoria.
You will successfully
Provide support to clients and appropriate linkages to community supports and programsUndertake quality assessments and provide short-term/ interim supportUtilise a strengths-based, trauma informed and client centred model of supportProvide ongoing interim support throughout their period within intake. This can take form of meetings, housing applications, coaching and referralsUndertake reporting and data collection processes and requirements, as directed by management
You will have
A relevant tertiary qualification in social work, welfare or related field or relevant experienceDemonstrated experience and highly developed skills in working with people who have multiple and complex needsValues-Driven: Alignment with the values of integrity, respect, compassion, collaboration, and diversity. Flexibility: The ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a dynamic environment. A Working with Children's CheckAbility to lift 5kg and carry items short distances due to instances where you may be required to take donated items to clients
