QBG GROUP PTY LTD trading as Lord Melbourne Hotel is looking for a full-time Chef/Cook for their busy restaurant.
The Lord Melbourne hotel is a family friendly venue with a great atmosphere and rustic charm, situated in the cosmopolitan heart of North Adelaide. A great place to catch up with family and friends or unwind after a long day at work. As a family business, the Lord Melbourne Hotel strives to be an open and welcoming pub, with a passion for providing excellent customer service and supporting local. Close to the city centre and Adelaide Oval, the hotel is perfect for a pint or a bite to eat before or after the game.
To be considered for the role you need to have a relevant industry qualification and at least 1-2 years' experience in a similar position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyse recipes to assign prices to menu items, based on food, labour, and overhead costs.
- Prepare and cook foods in quantity of all types, either on a regular basis or for special guests or functions.
- Based on customers preferences develop menu.
- Enforce OH&S and hygiene regulations.
- Inspect facilities or equipment for regulatory compliance.
- Requisition stock, materials, supplies, or equipment.
- Recruit and hire staff, including cooks and another kitchen worker.
- Schedule employee work hours by coordinating activities.
- Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and workers engaged in food preparation so we can build a skilled team.
- Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to staff.
- Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure conformance to established.
- Meet with customers to discuss menus for special occasions.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a similar leadership culinary role.
- Extensive knowledge of kitchen operations, including food preparation, inventory management, and staff supervision.
- Exceptional culinary creativity with a passion for innovation.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments.
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Experience with cost control, budgeting, WHS and food safety standards.
