About the Role

We are currently looking for Wildlife Field Operatives to join our Brisbane, regional Queensland offices, or remote The ideal candidate is someone with initiative and a strong work ethic who prioritises safety and demonstrates strong situational awareness. Essential to this role is a determination and passion to achieve positive ecological outcomes.

This role is field orientated and will involve assisting the Central Queensland Wildlife team in delivering projects including:

  • threatened species surveys and monitoring.
  • flying-fox management and monitoring.
  • bird management and monitoring.
  • pest animal management and monitoring.
  • fauna spotter catching and wildlife relocation services.

In addition to the above, this position may require assisting Ecosure's other disciplines including Environmental Services and Ecological Restoration.

This position serves as a promising entry point into the environmental industry for those who are passionate about the wildlife and want to make a positive impact while gaining valuable experience from experts. Graduates and undergraduates are encouraged to apply.

Required skills

  • construction industry white card.
  • ability to work remotely and autonomously in physically challenging environments.
  • the ability to communicate clearly within a diverse range of work environments.
  • a willingness to travel and be away from home for short periods.

The following skills and attributes would be highly regarded:

  • open manual driver's licence.
  • four-wheel driving experience/certification.
  • current first aid certificate.
  • venomous snake handling certificate.
  • working safely at heights certificate.
  • chainsaw accreditation.
  • pre-clearance survey / threatened species experience.
  • spotter catcher and/or wildlife handling experience.
  • demonstrated fauna identification and habitat assessment skills.
  • experience working on construction projects.
