Project Director Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Director to join our team due to growth. As a self-starter with a proven track record in the construction industry, you will bring a wealth of knowledge and leadership to our projects. Refurbishment and fit-out experience is essential, and your ability to manage and direct multiple projects simultaneously will be key to your success in this role.
Your exceptional interpersonal and communication skills will enable you to foster strong, authentic relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
Duties & Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Project Management: Lead the overall planning, coordination, and execution of projects from inception to completion, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the highest standards of quality.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, trusting relationships with clients, stakeholders, and contractors. Act as the main point of contact, ensuring that client expectations are understood and consistently met, fostering a client-centric approach throughout the project lifecycle.
- Budget & Financial Oversight: Manage project budgets, ensuring accurate financial tracking and reporting. Review claims and budget, and identify any financial risks or opportunities for cost optimisation.
- Safety Management: Ensure all projects adhere to strict safety standards and protocols. Ensure the team is properly trained to mitigate risks and maintain a safe working environment.
- Design Management: Collaborate with design teams to ensure the integrity and feasibility of project designs. Provide feedback to ensure designs are aligned with client requirements, regulatory standards, and cost limitations.
- Team Leadership & Collaboration: Provide leadership to the project team, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and the successful delivery of project milestones.
To be successful, you will need:
- Formal qualifications in Building, Construction, Engineering or a Property/Project Management based diploma or higher.
- Extensive experience within the Construction Industry (preferably in the commercial fit-out and refurbishment sector) with a minimum of 10 years’ post qualification experience.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage diverse teams and collaborate effectively across different levels of an organisation.
- A customer-focused mindset and the ability to build and maintain lasting client relationships.
- Sound knowledge of project management techniques including performance assessment, project evaluation and review techniques, value management and quality assurance, procurement methodologies, project organisation and communication.
