Your New Employer
Based on the northside of Brisbane, you’ll find an incredibly progressive organisation offering solutions to some of their industry’s most complex issues. Leadership is always key to a company’s success and I’m confident to say this company has been very successful over the past 20 years and has the strategy, the people, and the economic environment to continue to be a force amongst their competitors. Having grown consistently by acquisition and organically over the past 7 – 8 years, they’re in no position to slow down now. You’re incumbent is leaving the finances in incredible shape having spent the last 2 years layering in the relevant governance framework for a business of this size. He’s cleaned up the balance sheet, reviewed and reconciled all tax obligations, and he’s caught the finance function up to the business in that time.
Your New Team
It’s hard to find people you enjoy working with, can learn from, and that you respect. Well, in this organisation, you’ll be working for a CEO who joined the business 14 years ago and was promoted through the ranks to CEO 6 years ago. He’s dedicated to being innovative, inquisitive, and the best he can possibly be. He is emotionally intelligent, supportive, career supportive, and he truly understands what the business does and how they’re challenged daily.
The team that reports to you is made up of a qualified accountant and 2 finance officers. They each love working there and are excited about the growth that is ahead of them.
Your New Role

- Board & Shareholder reporting.

Your commercial acumen will be tested to the limits.
Your Experience
First and foremost, you need to be someone who prefers talking to people face-to-face instead of email and phone calls. Your attitude towards teamwork needs to be extremely positive. An understanding and appreciation for working together and the benefits of collaboration will see you succeed in this role. Technically your experience should have covered:
- Beginning your career in a Big 4 accounting firm before moving into a commercial role more recently.
- Extraordinary written and verbal communication.
- Commercial finance business partnering experience.
Again, this role is about joining a team of outcome-focused, hard-working individuals who have the customer in mind to ensure the future success and growth of the company. This is a role you can add value in and make a difference.
