About Us

Port Melbourne Chargers Women’s Football Club is an amateur women’s football club competing in the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA). Established in 2025, our Club is home to Premier & Divisional Women’s teams.

About the Role

The Social Media Manager oversees and drives the Club’s entire social media strategy. This includes coordinating game day posting, building brand consistency, and promoting the Club’s community impact.

Reporting to: Sponsorship, Marketing & Events lead
Working alongside : Events Department, Commercialization Manager, Player Social Committee, Club Volunteers

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a cohesive social media strategy.
  • Create engaging content plans aligned with Club goals, including sponsor and commercialisation deliverables.
  • Work in with the Events department to ensure events & social calendar is being advertised and promoted
  • Coordinate Game Day Social Media Volunteers.
  • Manage/ Assist with Club social platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok).
  • Work with our player-run social committee to ensure alignment with player level posts & commercial deliveries are in sync
  • Drive community engagement and grow online audiences.
  • Promote club events, fundraising initiatives, and key announcements to boost participation and attendance.
  • Support player engagement and recruitment.
  • Monitor post engagement, growth metrics, and trends to optimise content strategies.
  • Provide performance reports and adapt strategy as needed.

Time Commitment: 2-4 hours per week

  • Creative mindset with basic design skills (Canva, Adobe, or similar tools).
  • Strong strategic planning, content creation, and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in social media trends and tools.
  • Ability to uphold and embody the Club’s brand voice and values.
  • Hold or willing to obtain a Volunteer Working with Children Check.
