Stepping Stones Children’s Services is seeking a dynamic Centre Director for our Shearwater Children’s Centre, located on the beautiful North West Coast of Tasmania. A well established 59 place centre offering education and care to children 0-5 years, it is a perfect place for those seeking a new direction in their career pathway or the challenge of stepping up to a Director’s role.
Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management: Provide strong leadership to our dedicated team of Educators, ensuring a positive and collaborative work environment, whilst managing day to day operations.

Educational Excellence: Oversee curriculum planning and implementation to create a stimulating and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children. Monitor and enhance the quality of education and care provided.

Parent and Community Engagement: Foster positive relationships with parents and the local community, maintaining open communication and involvement in the Centre’s activities.

Compliance: Ensure that the centre complies with all relevant regulations, licensing requirements, and safety standards.

Staff Development: Support professional development opportunities for staff to enhance their skills and maintain high-quality teaching practices.

Inclusivity and Sustainability: Be able to demonstrate a commitment to inclusivity and sustainability.
Qualifications & Experience:
-
At least 3 years' experience as an Early Childhood Director or Assistant Director.

A Diploma of Early Childhood or a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education or a related field that is recognised by ACECQA.

Proven experience in a leadership role within a early childhood setting

Strong knowledge of child development and early education principles.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.

Ability to create a positive, inclusive, and collaborative environment for both staff and children.

Knowledge of relevant regulations and licensing standards.
Other Essential Criteria:

Current Working with Vulnerable People Registration

Current HLTAID012 First Aid and CPR Certificate

Current Child Protection Training
-
Current Food Safety Training
