Description:

Gain hands-on experience in museum collections with a 6-month internship at Arts Centre Melbourne.

Your Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working two days per week with the Collections team at Arts Centre Melbourne.
  • Assisting in booking and supervising research appointments.
  • Conducting library stocktake and aiding in new acquisitions preparation.
  • Supporting deinstallation or installation of objects in displays.
  • Engaging in collections sorting and database records improvement.
  • Collaborating with the Research Service, Curatorial, and Collections Management teams.

About You

Candidates should possess:

  • A tertiary degree in Museum Studies, Librarianship, Information Management, or Archives.
  • Well-developed verbal, interpersonal, and written skills.
  • Ability to collaborate within a team and manage project timelines.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and current technology systems.
  • Capability to learn new systems like the Collections EMU database.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Compensation & Benefits

Part-time fixed-term position (0.4 FTE) with a salary of $51,776.00 p.a. pro rata plus superannuation.
