About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement and Contracts Support Officer to play a key role in supporting the contract renewal activities within SA Pathology. This role is vital to maintaining the ongoing operation of our laboratories by ensuring timely renewals for biomedical equipment maintenance, reagent consumables, and other essential items. Your work will contribute directly to SA Pathology’s compliance with State Procurement Board Policy and support service continuity across multiple financial years.
In this position, you may apply your expertise across a range of technologies or within a specialised area of procurement. You may also be responsible for supervising staff across different career groups, offering support and guidance in procurement, contract management, and replacement services. You are a detail-focused and adaptable procurement professional with strong communication and analytical skills, ready to contribute to effective contract and procurement services. Proven experience in procurement, contract management, and tendering processes across public or private sectors, with strong knowledge of related legislative and risk frameworks.

Demonstrated ability to liaise across technical and non-technical stakeholders, manage complex issues, and support projects in high-pressure environments.

Strong understanding of contract governance, financial and legal implications, and experience applying commercial strategies to achieve business outcomes.

Advanced written and verbal communication, critical thinking, and project coordination skills, with high attention to detail and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
