Job Description

About the role

At Sydney Airport, we're committed to delivering a world-class experience for passengers and operational excellence behind the scenes—and technology plays a critical role in making that happen. As a Project Manager, you’ll take the lead on delivering complex, business-critical projects across technology infrastructure, cybersecurity, corporate systems and aeronautical systems. From integrating advanced communications networks to upgrading mission-critical operational systems, this is your opportunity to shape the digital backbone of Australia’s busiest airport.

In this high-impact role, you’ll work at the intersection of innovation and operations, ensuring that every project aligns with our safety, compliance, and continuity standards. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams from concept through to implementation, making sure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with precision. If you're a strategic thinker who thrives in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment, and you want to be part of projects that directly influence the future of travel, this is your runway to make a real impact.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to

  • Lead the planning and delivery of complex technology and business projects, defining objectives, scope, timelines and key deliverables.
  • Apply strong project controls and risk management practices to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned to safety and compliance standards.
  • Build and maintain effective partnerships across internal teams and external vendors to support seamless project execution.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts and resources, ensuring efficient allocation to meet strategic and operational goals.
  • Drive stakeholder engagement across all levels of the organisation, ensuring transparency, alignment, and ongoing support throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Champion a collaborative, safety-focused, and customer-centric culture that supports innovation and enhances the airport experience.

About You

  • Proven experience delivering complex technology and infrastructure projects in live, operational environments with 24/7 uptime requirements.
  • A relevant degree in Information Technology, Engineering or a related field, along with PMP or PRINCE2 project management certification.
  • Deep understanding of infrastructure systems such as networking, structured cabling, IP-based surveillance, and enterprise communications.
  • Strong track record in managing IT projects in regulated industries—experience in aviation, transport, or similar environments is highly regarded.
  • Skilled in both Agile and Waterfall delivery frameworks, with the ability to adapt to shifting priorities and lead through complexity.
  • A collaborative and solutions-focused mindset, with excellent communication skills and the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
