Primary Purpose of Role:
- Manage and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the State Training Centre (STC), ensuring high-quality customer service and learning experiences.
- Develop, manage and monitor the performance of external providers supporting the facilities and course delivery at various across the State, working collaboratively with CFS and SAFECOM procurement services to ensure contract compliance and timely review.
- Induct, liaise and coordinate contractors attending STC and other sites where appropriate, for preventative maintenance and property servicing, ensuring the work conducted complies with the appropriate legislation, agreements and supports safe and professional learning environments.
- Manage and develop exceptional working relationships with volunteers, staff and external providers across the State, to promote consistency of training environments, competency-based learning experiences and outcomes and compliance with relevant national standards and industry best practice.
- Lead a multi-disciplinary team to provide operational and logistical support for statewide and local (STC based) training delivery to achieve high training attendance and completion rates that increase CFS member capabilities and ensure smooth end-to-end learner experiences learning outcomes
- Manage team outputs including oversight of contracts and contractors to promote high levels of CFS and agency member satisfaction with training facilities, reduce identified risks and deliver exceptional experiences for visitors to the STC
- Manage budgets associated with external training provider contracts, Training Support Services, capital works and STC and other training site maintenance where required, identifying opportunities for streamlining and achieving cost efficiencies
- Provide accurate advice and timely information on the procurement of assets and services for the State Training Centre upgrades to services and facilities at STC and where relevant, other training sites.
- Undertaking of an emergency support or incident management role, via a defined ‘operational’ on-call roster, with the potential to be re-called under emergency situations, to enable the provision of emergency service activities by CFS to the community. Whilst undertaking such operational roles, personnel will be required to work in emergency situations, which may include day, afternoon, night, or extended shifts.
