THE ROLEReporting to the Manager, Complex Needs and Forensic Disability Policy will lead the design and delivery of the complex needs and forensic disability strategic evaluation and research work program and activities. The position will be responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive evaluation schedule across the existing DFFH programs for people with complex needs and forensic disability, as well as targeted projects across data analytics, evidence, and research activity streams. The position will contribute to the team's and branch's leadership through policy and program development supporting complex needs and forensic disability integrated responses.
This position provides subject-matter expertise and leadership in the development of evidence-informed policy, practice and decision-making across complex needs and forensic disability programs, working closely with other relevant teams within the department and other departments and agencies.
The role operates within a complex and dynamic environment that requires capacity to exercise sound judgement, and the ability to proactively develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders.
Core to being successful will be your experience and knowledge in policy development, your ability to understand new subject matter quickly, demonstrate appropriate initiative, and produce high-quality advice.

* Provide authoritative advice, reasoned recommendations and innovative solutions to complex and sensitive issues relating to complex needs and the forensic disability service system, based on comprehensive research.
* Develop policy initiatives that meet government and departmental objectives within resourcing, timeline and budget parameters.
* Undertake data analysis and modelling to support strategic reform, budget strategy and social investment directions.
