About Us:

The Victorian Road Safety Strategy 2021-2030 commits to the ambitious target of eliminating death from our roads by 2050, with the first step of halving road deaths by 2030. It also seeks to reduce the incidence of serious injury resulting from road crashes.

Road Safety manages Victoria's road safety camera network and is a representative for the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS) in Victoria's road safety partnership. Road Safety contributes to this partnership in ensuring the effective and efficient operation of road safety cameras, in ensuring the transparency and integrity of Victoria's road safety enforcement. Road Safety is accountable to the Minister for Police and the Office of the Road Safety Camera Commissioner.

About the Role:

As a Senior Manager, Policy, Strategy and Governance, you will be responsible for leading a multi-disciplinary team to deliver on Road Safety policies, strategic planning, governance and reporting, providing high-level strategic advice and complex reports to executive management and Ministers.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Leading the development of Road Safety related policy proposal and submissions.
  • Management of an annual budget, including reporting and analysis.
  • Providing leadership to the Policy, Strategy and Governance team, which includes undertaking all operational functions including recruitment, professional supervision/coaching, PDP processes and provision of feedback and guidance.

About You:

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have experience successfully managing a high performing team and demonstrating leadership in a collaborative environment.
  • Be a strategic thinker with senior level experience in the public sector, leading policy, coordination and strategic planning function.
  • Have demonstrated ability to prepare well-written, timely, concise, accurate and audience-appropriate briefings and reports and documents for publication.

Qualifications

  • A qualification in a related field or relevant work experience is desirable.
