The Salvation Army (Salvos) is one of the largest providers of homelessness services across the country. Our philosophy is that every person should be afforded dignity and respect and that no one should be without a safe, affordable, and secure home. We provide services and supports to adults, and families with accompanying children in the form of accommodation, case management, assertive outreach, financial assistance, community connection and referral services.

About the role

We are seeking a values-driven Case Manager to provide rapid, person-centred support to older people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, helping them access aged care, housing, and essential community services. This role forms part of the Care Finders program, supporting vulnerable clients across Launceston to navigate complex systems and improve their wellbeing. This is a Permanent Part Time role, located in Launceston, Tasmania.


You will successfully

  • Provide high-quality, person-centred support to older people and those at risk of homelessness who need help to access aged care and other services.
  • Help clients connect with My Aged Care and other community supports to improve their wellbeing and independence.
  • Support clients to find safe, sustainable housing and access the care they need to stay well and housed.
  • Work closely with the wider Care Finders team, offering advice and support with more complex client needs.
  • Keep clear records and share regular updates and reports with the Care Finders Team

You will have

Remove points that are not relevant to the role

• Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, AOD Counselling, Welfare, Psychology, or a related discipline, or substantial relevant experience.

• Extensive knowledge of and experience in the housing and homelessness sector in Tasmania.

• Demonstrated experience in client-centered case management within housing, homelessness, or related community services settings.

• An understanding of relevant Tasmanian and national legislation, policies, and frameworks relating to homelessness, housing, and social support services.

• A current Driver’s Licence.

• A working knowledge of client management systems and Microsoft 365 in a professional setting.

• A current Working with Vulnerable People Registration (Tasmania).

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with (xxx) youth from diverse backgrounds.
