About The RoleProplaster are seeking a highly driven, detail-orientated Supply Chain Specialist to ensure efficient planning, production scheduling, inventory management & data management from our Head office in Capalaba Brisbane. The ideal candidate should have good experience in logistics and supply chain management preferably in a manufacturing enviroment.
About The Opportunity
This role covers all aspects of order fulfillment including Inventory planning and procurement as well as direct input into the S&OP & Forecasting Process.
The position requires a customer-focused supply chain and logistics professional who will join a dynamic operations team. You have an enquiring mind and can manage a high transaction load productively, and accurately while facilitating improved internal and external customer service.
You are a great team player who can also work autonomously, with excellent data analysis using MS Excel, and verbal and written communication skills.
The role encompasses a variety of tasks including data entry, liaising with senior leadership and other team members, and problem-solving. We have a large volume of product and materials that is sourced Internationally so knowledge of working alongside freight forwarders is a must. Inclusive is a customer base internationally which requires an understanding of export requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and continuously improve forecasting models to ensure inventory holding efficiencies
- Production planning for locally manufactured goods to maximise productivity while delivering on customer service
- Liaising with the broader operations team, including warehouse, to ensure customer needs are met
- Compiling purchase orders and allocating freight partners to meet customer requirements
- Analysing inventory status, scheduling purchase orders to maintain service levels
- Sourcing and comparing freight quotes for inbound and inter-company logistics shipments
- Review and track COGS, transport costings both International and Domestic and implement initiatives for COGS reduction
Previous experience in a similar role in supply chain operations (ideally 3-5 years+), including international supply chain, preferably within similar fields is required. Ideally you will have transferrable skills and a flexible/adaptable approach to work in our environment
You Will Also Need
- The ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external
- Effective negotiation skills to manage supplier and key stakeholder relationships
- Strong numeracy skills and high attention to detail with data accuracy
- Proficiency in database management and relevant computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word
- Excellent analytical, planning, and organisational abilities
- Previous experience in the Planning & logistics sector or APICS qualification
- Minimum Intermediate Excel skills. Must be able to demonstrate pivot table knowledge as a minimum
- Working knowledge in Project Management and Continuous Improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing
