We are currently seeking applications for a Technical and Systems Support Officer within the HRM Systems Team, to join Shared Service SA – Business Systems at The Department of Treasury & Finance for a period up until the 30 September 2025.


Remuneration:
ASO5 – Salary Range ($85,790 – $95,413 p.a.).


About the opportunity:

The Shared Services SA, Business Systems, HRM Systems, on behalf of SA Government agencies, maintains and provides system support for the CHRIS21/HR21 application.

The HRM Systems Technical and Systems Support Officer coordinates, develops, and implements requests for change which will involve significant consultation and engagement across key stakeholders including Payroll Services, external systems suppliers and other systems support teams. The officer ensures all change request activities are documented, implemented and effectively managed to meet the expectations of internal and external stakeholders.

The HRM Technical and Systems Support Officer is accountable to the Manager of HRM Systems and is an integral member of the HRM Systems leadership group.


About you

You will be experienced in providing system application support. You will have prior experience in developing, reviewing, testing, and implementing system changes into a HRMS environment. Have the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with team members and clients.

Have the ability to plan, organise and prioritise tasks to ensure work is completed efficiently and effectively.

Possess a high level of written and verbal communication skills along with a board range of HRM Systems and Payroll systems workflows, functions and business interfaces experience.

The incumbent will be required to liaise with a range of staff within Shared Services SA and Agencies receiving services.

To be successful you will be:

  • Proven experience in Chris21 and Payroll.
  • Have knowledge and understanding of HRMS and Payroll systems workflows, functions and business interfaces.
  • Demonstrated experience in service delivery providing high quality systems and change management support preferably in a HRMS or Payroll environment.
  • Understanding of the application of the change management cycle within a systems environment.
  • Ability to provide expert advice to stakeholders with respect to business issues of a complex, critical and sensitive political nature.
  • Experience in data manipulation, extraction, reporting and presentation using Microsoft Excel to at least intermediate skill level.
  • A high level of written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to think analytically and critically regarding proposed system changes and the linkage to business requirements.
  • A thorough and meticulous approach to applying changes in a systems environment.
  • Understanding of and commitment to the key principles of quality control and assurance.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with team members, clients and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to adapt and maintain effectiveness through major change to work tasks or the work environment.
  • Possess and promote a commitment to service excellence and the continuous improvement of service standards, tools, and processes.
  • Prior experience in ICT architecture, understanding and exposure with Cyber Security and exposure with sFTP is desirable.
