The Opportunity
The Systems Support Officer is accountable to the Financial and Procurement Systems Operations Team Leader for:

  • Assisting with investigations, preparing reports with recommendations, maintaining records and systems and contributing to the development of programs, services and projects and performance benchmarking.
  • Applying sound knowledge of financial systems to undertake system administration functions.'
  • Participating in continuous improvement initiatives and other finance related projects.
  • Working as part of the Financial and Procurement Systems Operations team to meet key compliance and business outcomes.
  • Collaborating with other sections of Financial and Procurement Services and Internal and External Stakeholders (including Shared Services SA) to deliver efficient financial system outcomes.
  • Applying analytical skills to undertake complex reconciliations across a range of datasets for various financial systems.

About You
The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, effectively engaging with customers and stakeholders through clear, tactful, and confidential interactions. You will need to consistently manage high workloads with attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness. With experience in coordinating programs and projects under general direction, can you ensure quality control and efficient resource use.

Your analytical and research skills will support informed decision-making, allowing you to produce well-structured correspondence and reports. Can you apply problem-solving skills in conducting complex reconciliations, identifying discrepancies, and recommending practical solutions?

Qualifications/Experience
Qualifications or equivalent experience in Accounting, Economics, Commerce or Information Technology is desirable.

Special Conditions
A National Police Check (NPC) is required prior to employment in the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.

May be required to perform duties in other locations/divisions/units depending on DIT requirements.

Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.

Tenure of Vacancy
Temporary appointment up to 12 months.

Remuneration
ASO3 - $67,589 to $72,033 pa + superannuation
