We have an exciting opportunity for a highly strategic, creatively driven and commercial Account Director to join our Melbourne team.


The Role

Creatively driven, entrepreneurial and respected, you set the standard for exceptional account leadership. You are a trusted partner to clients, a champion of transformational creativity, and a driver of innovative brand experiences.

As a strategic business leader, you build and nurture senior client relationships, grow business opportunities, and foster a collaborative, high-performing cross-discipline team. You don't just ensure the work gets delivered — you elevate it to award-winning status.


Responsibilities

Client Strategy & Growth:

  • Act as a strategic advisor to clients, shaping their business and marketing strategies.
  • Develop and execute strategic growth plans to exceed revenue targets.
  • Prepare accurate client forecasts and identify new organic opportunities.
  • Lead client WIPs and maintain a proactive understanding of their challenges and opportunities.

Creative & Innovation Leadership:

  • Champion creativity, driving toward award-winning work that challenges conventions.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies, CX innovations, and next-gen processes.
  • Advocate for and activate the full suite of Akcelo’s capabilities to deliver breakthrough solutions.

Financial & Operational Excellence:

  • Oversee financial performance of client portfolios, including budgets, forecasts, and profitability.
  • Implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Team Leadership & Culture:

  • Inspire, mentor and grow account team members, fostering a collaborative and imaginative environment.
  • Lead by example, embodying Akcelo’s Genuine, Experimental, Limitless, and Imaginative values.

Client Advocacy:

  • Serve as the voice of the client within Akcelo, ensuring alignment of all work to client goals.
  • Build long-term strategic partnerships that lead to client advocacy and loyalty.


Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Client satisfaction and advocacy scores (e.g., NPS)
  • Revenue growth and new business conversion within portfolio
  • Margin achievement (minimum 10% as benchmark)
  • Successful, award-winning creative work delivered
  • Team leadership feedback scores


Your Experience

  • 5+ years in a similar Account Director role within a creative agency.
  • Proven track record in growing accounts and delivering exceptional client service.
  • Passionate about big ideas, creativity, and solving complex business challenges.
  • Integrated marketing experience across Brand, Digital, Film, Social, Retail, CX, PR, Martech, and Customer Lifecycle Strategy.
  • Inspirational team player who motivates and uplifts those around them.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
