Expression of Interest - DevSecOps Engineer (Contract | Defence Sector)

Clearance: Must hold or be eligible for NV1 or NV2

We are seeking contract DevSecOps Engineers for upcoming Defence sector projects based in Adelaide. These roles are ideal for experienced professionals who excel in secure DevOps environments and are interested in contributing to sovereign Defence capabilities. You'll join agile teams modernising and securing systems across hybrid, cloud, and air-gapped platforms.
Role Responsibilities-
Design and implement secure and automated CI/CD pipelines

Manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Ansible, Terraform, ARM templates

Integrate security controls and tooling (e.g., SAST, DAST, Xray) into build and release processes

Deploy and maintain tools such as GitLab, Artifactory, Keycloak, SonarQube

Support containerisation (Docker/Podman), Kubernetes, and secure runtime configurations

Work closely with cyber security teams to ensure compliance with Defence frameworks (e.g., ISM, PSPF)

Support deployments in classified and/or air-gapped environments

Maintain robust documentation and assist with technical uplift across the DevSecOps toolchain

5+ years in DevSecOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or similar

CI/CD experience with GitLab, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar

Strong scripting and automation experience (Python, Bash, PowerShell, Ansible)

Experience managing Kubernetes clusters and containerised workloads

Familiarity with RBAC, Active Directory, Keycloak or similar IAM tools

Knowledge of secure software supply chain management and code scanning tools

Experience in secure or restricted environments (Defence, critical infrastructure, etc.)

Active or recent NV1, or NV2 clearance

Familiarity with Azure or VMware hybrid environments

Previous experience supporting air-gapped systems or secure enclaves
