About the Opportunity
Applications are sought for the new position of Director Operational Reform for Consumer and Business Services (CBS), South Australia.
The primary purpose of the Director Operational Reform (the ‘Director’) is to deliver the 2025 Consumer and Business Services (CBS) reform program, which includes leading the reform of systems and processes of work, workload, people management and other corporate functions as needed to achieve the 2025 reform program outcomes. This requires the development of a CBS strategic plan which clearly sets out and prioritises the reform projects.
This role contributes to the strategic goals of CBS through the effective management of all reform projects. The Director will implement and manage the reform program and will ensure the reform initiatives have a strong focus on people and leadership, driving a positive workforce culture of trust and psychosocial safety, to enhance employee engagement and wellbeing.
About the Business
The Attorney-General’s Department (AGD) provides a range of legal, regulatory and other services for the government and people of South Australia. Employing around 1800 staff, AGD promotes justice by protecting people’s rights, holding people to account according to the law, improving safety and contributing to an efficient and fair justice system.
Consumer and Business Services (CBS) is a division of the Attorney-General’s Department and is responsible for protecting consumers, supporting and regulating businesses and recording significant life events for South Australians. CBS is customer focused and flexible in its activities, providing accessible information and services.
CBS constitutes a large part of South Australia’s business/consumer regulatory system and is the regulator for many businesses and professions.

Special Conditions for Employment
Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Successful applicants will be provided further information if an interview is requested. Forms are not to be lodged directly with SA Police (SAPOL) under any circumstances and any fees incurred by applicants in doing so will not be recoverable from the AGD.
Some out of hours work may be required.
Some interstate and intrastate travel may be required.
