About The Role
In this newly created role, the role of Environmental Project Officer is responsible for supporting the provision of environmental management and specialist environmental solutions to Council's Water and Sewer asset construction and renewal projects.
This role will see you provide environmental project service to Council's Water and Sewer Department in the interpretation of environmental legislation and their effects. In addition, you will be responsible for providing your specialist advice regarding environmental assessment and support any investigations as required.
This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.
To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have
A Diploma in Project Management, Environmental Management or related field OR demonstrated solid contemporary experience in a similar role, combined with ongoing professional development. A current Class C Drivers Licence. A valid Construction General Induction card - NSW SafeWork or equivalent. The ability to identify in the field native and introduced flora, threatened species and endangered ecological communities as listed in the Schedules of the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2017.Experience working on projects managing environmental risks and infrastructure projects working in close vicinity to environmentally significant areas.

Other Important Information
The commencing salary for this position is up to $90.2k. Central Coast Council also provides progression opportunities for employees to progress up to the maximum salary of $104.5k on completion of assessment of skills and performance 11.5% superannuation We have a permanent full-time role available.This role will be able to access a 9 day fortnight.We are able to offer hybrid and flexible working conditions for this role - 2 days from home and 3 days onsite.This role is located at the Erina Works Depot.
Council may create an eligibility list from this recruitment process and may utilise this eligibility list to fill other permanent or temporary vacancies.
A vehicle is provided for official duties and private use leaseback is available in accordance with Council’s Vehicle Policy.
