Role Overview:
As a Downstream Senior Strategist , you will provide expert advice on downstream business matters, lead long-term scenario planning, and deliver strategic insights to support the Fuels Business Unit’s growth. You’ll conduct independent research, identify optimisation and synergy opportunities, and present high-impact analysis and recommendations to senior leadership and key committees.

Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the subject matter expert in Downstream strategy and scenario planning
- Conduct and present research, special studies, and market analysis for senior committees
- Help develop the Fuels Business Unit’s overall strategy and create long-term market outlook scenarios
- Support the creation of strategic plans, including capital and resource allocation
- Build strong networks with think tanks and industry experts to monitor global trends in technology, regulation, geopolitics, and the downstream sector
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, Financial Management, or a closely related field.
- Advanced degree (e.g., MBA or relevant Master’s) is highly regarded.
- Minimum 15 years of combined experience across refining, chemicals, trading, or retail marketing sectors.
- At least 5 years of direct experience in strategy formulation, scenario planning, and/or strategic planning.
- Strong understanding of the Downstream value chain and global energy market dynamics.
- Proven ability to deliver high-level strategic insights and actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
