About Us

At Baptcare, we care. Our Mission and Vision are lived through our WE CARE Values: for our residents, customers, clients, partners, and supporters; with the very young through to the very old, the vulnerable, with families through all of life’s stages and challenges.

Baptcare is a purpose driven organisation working across Victoria, Tasmania, and South Australia. Focused on providing residential and community care for older people and support to children, families, and people with disability, financially disadvantaged people and people seeking asylum.

Our Values are Wellbeing, Ethics, Co-creating, Accountability, Respect and Effectiveness .

About the Role
Join Baptcare’s Community Services Victoria team as a Care Services Team Leader, overseeing daily operations and providing leadership across our Foster Care and Kinship First Support programs. This role ensures best practice in care delivery, supports the recruitment and retention of foster carers, and manages assessments and supports for kinship placements. As the Care Services Team Leader, you’ll collaborate with internal and external partners to improve outcomes for children and young people, while meeting program targets and budget requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide operational leadership, supervision, consultation, and risk management for the Care Services Team.
  • Oversee daily team operations including rostering, caseload allocation, performance management, and professional development.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and service-focused team culture.
  • Ensure service delivery aligns with relevant legislation and safety standards (e.g. CYFA 2005, Child Safe Standards, Charter of Human Rights, MARAM).
  • Support the implementation of evidence-informed, outcomes-based practice.
  • Ensure client needs are met and positive outcomes are achieved or progressed.
  • Manage and monitor operational budgets and financial performance.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on program performance using data and analysis.
  • Adjust service delivery strategies based on performance insights.
  • Stay current with Baptcare and government policies, procedures, and legislation.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
  • Develop culturally appropriate support plans with relevant stakeholders, including Child Protection.
  • Build and maintain effective internal and external working relationships.
  • Support strategic planning and initiatives within Baptcare.
  • Foster collaboration with external agencies, including DFFH, networks, and community partners.
  • Represent Baptcare in relevant forums, networking groups, and meetings.
  • Lead the recruitment and retention of Foster Carers in Victoria, including community engagement, training, and assessment of prospective carers.

About You
To excel in this role, you will possess exceptional leadership skills, a deep understanding of community development principles, and a commitment to promoting health equity.

You will also have relevant experience in the Community Services space, along with Out of Home Care experience, and Child Protection experience.

For You
