Description:
Charters Towers State High School is seeking an experienced Head of Department (Secondary), Teaching and Learning, to join our leadership team on a temporary full-time basis, for a period of 6 months, unless otherwise determined.
In this role, you will support teachers to review and improve curriculum and pedagogy in line with school and departmental initiatives, develop the quality of teaching and learning across the school and nurture positive relationships between students, teachers and stakeholders.

About the Role
The key responsibilities for this role include:
- Provide coaching for beginning teachers and manage the probation teacher program.
- Coordinate the Flexi School and support junior students to re-engage with mainstream education.
- Lead staff to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
- Set high standards for student and staff performance.
