Join our dynamic team as a Principal Engineer and shape the future of financial technology! You'll drive technical vision, build innovative software, and lead a team that empowers financial advisers. Your expertise will be key to creating secure, scalable, and user-centric solutions, while fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.Responsibilities:
  • Define and communicate the technical vision for financial software products.
  • Architect secure, scalable systems while ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and introduce innovative technologies.
  • Lead complex problem-solving and hands-on coding to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Oversee code reviews and ensure security, performance, and maintainability.
  • Address engineering challenges related to security, compliance, and high-volume processing.
  • Inspire and mentor engineers, promoting best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Lead by example and support team growth through coaching and skill development.
  • Drive transformation in processes, tooling, and technology to enhance software delivery.
  • Implement DevOps and CI/CD best practices to optimize performance and scalability.
  • Lead initiatives to reduce technical debt and improve engineering standards.
  • Work closely with product managers, UX designers, QA, DevOps, and stakeholders.
  • Engage in stakeholder management to ensure alignment and project success.
  • Facilitate workshops and maintain strong relationships across teams.
Requirements:
  • Advanced proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., C#, Python, JavaScript), with experience in relevant ecosystems.
  • Expertise in software architecture, system design, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Strong experience with distributed systems and microservices architectures.
  • Proven problem-solving and debugging abilities to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) and tools (IDEs, debuggers, CI/CD, testing frameworks).
  • Solid understanding of security best practices, particularly in the financial software domain.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, guiding and mentoring engineering teams.
  • Strong communication skills, able to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in project management, including risk management and stakeholder engagement.
  • Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Familiarity with financial industry standards and regulations (e.g., PCI DSS, APRA guidelines).
  • Ability to align technical solutions with business objectives and client needs.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (e.g., product, UX, QA, DevOps).
  • Strong focus on fostering a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
  • Willingness and ability to stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • Proactive in finding ways to improve solutions, systems, and processes.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work autonomously.
  • Results-driven with a focus on continuous improvement and delivering high-quality solutions.
