About Cadia
Our Cadia Valley Operation in New South Wales is situated about 25 kilometers from Orange and 250 kilometers west of Sydney. Cadia produces gold doré bars from a gravity circuit and gold-rich copper concentrates from a flotation circuit. The operation includes the Cadia East Mine which is globally renowned for its use of block caving, a large-scale underground mining method.

Who we’re looking for
The Network Engineer will collaborate with team members and cross-functional teams to implement technical solutions, support maintenance and new implementations, monitor usage for optimization, facilitate internal audits with partners, and deliver deliverables to appropriate teams.
You will have an understanding of LAN, WAN, Microwave, cellphone towers, and WiFi technologies and be familiar with network infrastructure planning, implementation, and maintenance.
Additionally the Network Engineer will excel in collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, both internally and externally, to deliver successful network projects aligned with organizational goals.
A deep knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements, such as GDPR and HIPAA, is essential to ensure our network practices meet legal and industry standards. Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) is a must, as you’ll be responsible for creating reports, tracking performance, and delivering presentations to key stakeholders.
You’ll also play a key role in conducting network audits, reviews, and testing to ensure optimal performance and security, while maintaining detailed documentation of network configurations, changes, and upgrades. Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with team members and cross-functional teams to implement and maintain network solutions, including LAN, WAN, Microwave, cellphone towers, and WiFi.
- Support the planning, execution, and maintenance of network upgrades and new implementations to enhance infrastructure capabilities.
- Continuously monitor network usage and performance, identifying opportunities for optimization and improvements.
- Assist in conducting internal audits, reviews, and testing to ensure network reliability and compliance with standards.
- Offer technical support for network-related issues, troubleshooting and resolving problems efficiently to minimize downtime.
- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, changes, and upgrades to ensure accurate records.
- Work with vendors and contractors to support network implementations, maintenance, and issue resolution, ensuring they meet performance standards and contractual obligations.
- Implement and maintain security measures and protocols to protect network integrity and data from vulnerabilities and threats.
- Assist in the maintenance and optimization of communication infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, WiFi, Microwave, and cellphone towers.
- Support the planning and execution of network projects, ensuring alignment with site priorities and operational needs.
You will also possess the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology/ Computer Science or a related field.
- Demonstrated progressive experience in a similar role
- High level of proficiency in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting LAN, WAN, Microwave, cellphone towers, and WiFi networks.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS) and security principles.
- Strong technical support and troubleshooting abilities for network-related issues.
- Advanced skills in network performance monitoring and optimization.
