What you'll be doing
The CHW Palliative Care Service is part of the SCHN Department of Palliative Care. It is represented by a multidisciplinary team, who provide specialist clinical care to support the needs of children with a life limiting illness and their family. Care is coordinated across both the hospital and community setting in addition to Bear Cottage Manly.
The CHW Palliative Care Administration Officer will provide senior administrative support to the multidisciplinary team to assist with the efficient workflow, and organization of the service.
This position will work closely with the SCHN Palliative Care Head of Department and Co-Lead Manager to support other operational and service administration tasks. This may include organising exteArnal meetings (scheduling invites/agendas/minute taking and distribution) or service-related forums.
  1. Demonstrated senior experience in administrative support, within a clinical or customer service environment.
  2. Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to support multidisciplinary staff, patients and families.
  3. Ability to work under limited supervision, take initiative when working in a busy environment and problem solve effectively.
  4. Strong computer literacy skills, including use of Microsoft Office programs and ideally experience using NSW Health systems.
  5. Demonstrated ability to prioritise, co-ordinate and time manage daily tasks
  6. Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service with empathy and understanding of patient needs
