Role SummaryRaef The Label is seeking an established Senior womenswear designer/garment tech to lead the brand creating seasonal ranges from concept, design, sampling through to bulk production.
Key ResponsibilitiesResearch· Catwalk trend research and analysis· WGSN trend research and analysis· Colour Palette research and creation· Mood board research and creation· Print/fabric/trim research· Shape and fit research· Competitor Pricing analysis· Present final trends for the season too Director Design· Lead range building sessions· Design cohesive monthly/seasonal ranges· Technical CAD drawings including colour/print/pattern· Create CAD boards for each month and outfitting· Brief graphic designer on print and direction for each month/season Pre-development· New season fabric, trim, hardware, sourcing with Suppliers· Set up fabric, trim, hardware, accessories libraries to manage current and future developments Range Building· Create monthly/seasonal range boards and add style details CADS, fabric, fit details· Create excel range schedule add style details to help track where each style is in the development process Sampling and development process · Work alongside garment tech for initial design handover for range development – I think we should delete this line· Create full tech pack for all styles.· Collate and handover final style tech packs to all suppliers in line with critical path deadlines· Manage all proto development/Sampling process/PP and bulk production· Co-ordinate and run fit sessions for proto/sms/PP samples from all suppliers. Fit sessions are supported by a consultant senior pattern maker as required. (not sure you need to put this or not?)Processing all fit comments, 2nd fit packs, PP packs and production packsProcessing and approval of all shipment samples· Supplier communication and co-ordination· Review supplier costs with Director/ range build pricing architecture to ensure product quality, make and fabrics are in line Qualifications, Required Skills and Experience· Qualification in Fashion and Textiles· 5+ years in a similar role within womenswear apparel· Fashion forward and trend focused· Superior knowledge of fashion design· Extensive textiles technology knowledge· Vast knowledge in international manufacturing standards and processes· Expansive technical knowledge of garment construction, fit, finishes, sampling process, bulk manufacturing and Qc· Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office· Strong communication skills· Outstanding organisation skills· High level attention to detail· A positive and hardworking attitude· Ability to balance workload of multiple projects and communicate across departments to ensure deadlines are met Please send your CV and design folio through to grace@raeflabel.com.au
