The Role
As an organisation we’ve positively connected thousands of people including donors, volunteers and friends on the street. The Grants, Trusts, and Foundations Manager, will be a maternity leave cover that plays a critical leadership role within the Marketing, Fundraising, and Partnerships team and is responsible for driving the strategic growth and success of the grants and philanthropy streams. This role is accountable for identifying, securing, and managing funding from trusts, foundations, and grant-making bodies to support the organisation’s mission and long-term sustainability.
Working closely with the Chief Marketing and Revenue Officer, the Grants, Trusts and Foundations Manager develops and executes strategies to cultivate strong relationships with funders, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities. This role also oversees grant applications, reporting, and compliance while collaborating across teams to maximise funding opportunities and demonstrate impact.
The role reports to the Chief Marketing and Revenue Officer and provides guidance and oversight to team members within the grants, fostering a culture of excellence in fundraising and donor stewardship.
In a nutshell, this role will be responsible for:
- Lead the development and execution of innovative fundraising strategies for grants, trusts, foundations, and other growth areas in collaboration with the Fundraising and Partnerships team.
- Identify organisational funding needs and implement targeted, scalable strategies to secure financial support for key priorities.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of grant management, including identifying opportunities, managing applications, securing funding, and ensuring accurate reporting and acquittal for relationships across government and philanthropic bodies.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with grant-makers, funders, and philanthropic partners to enhance engagement and long-term support.
- Collaborate with internal teams (finance, operations, marketing, and impact measurement) to align funding applications with organisational needs and compliance requirements.
- Advocate for policy and process changes to enhance the organisation’s ability to secure funding, ensuring alignment with long-term financial sustainability and growth objectives.

We’re looking for a dynamic, strategic, and results-driven Grants, Trusts and Foundations Manager with at least three years of experience in grant writing and fundraising. You’ll possess expert knowledge of the grants sector, with a proven track record of identifying and securing funding from trusts, foundations, and government bodies. You’ll have a knack for crafting compelling grant proposals and communicating impact in a way that resonates with funders. Reporting and compliance will be second nature to you, with exceptional attention to detail in meeting funder requirements. You’ll bring a data-driven approach to your work, using insights to develop strategies for growth and continued success. Excellent communication skills—written, verbal, and digital—are key, as you’ll be engaging diverse stakeholders, building relationships, and influencing decisions. Experience in the not-for-profit sector, combined with your collaborative and relationship-focused approach, will allow you to thrive in this role as you work to maximise our fundraising potential.
