About the Role
Are you ready to inspire nursing students? Our Diploma of Nursing (EN program) is currently seeking a sessional teacher who can inspire and equip our students with current industry knowledge and skills. You will achieve this by showcasing your teaching skills and providing students with current standard industry practices. You will also support students undertaking Professional Experience Placement by undertaking a range of activities to support and monitor student success.
About the Person
Skill and experience
- Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (RN) with AHPRA
- Bachelor of Nursing degree (or equivalent) or higher
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116)
- Minimum of 3 years Nursing experience (medical & surgical nursing)
- Current nursing experience
- Minimum 2-3 years VET teaching experience desirable
- Current Employee Working with Children Check
- Understanding of ASQA/ANMAC regulatory guidelines and standards is desirable
Duties
An example of duties you may perform will include
- Establish and maintain a positive learning environment and undertake assessment of student performance in accordance with the requirements of the relevant curriculum/ training package.
- Design and develop training and assessment that is learner focused and responds to learners as individuals.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and assessment in accordance with the National VET Regulator including the requirements of moderation and validation of assessment.
- Maintain industry currency to ensure our students are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge
- Guide students through their clinical placements by providing feedback and ensure a flexible supportive approach
- Organise briefing and debriefing related to Professional Experience Placement
- Provide formative and summative feedback to allocated group of students
- Liaise with students, clinical placement staff, fellow teachers and report to the Course Coordinators
Salary and Conditions of Employment:
- For the sessional teaching roles, the hourly rate payable is $88.64 per hour inclusive of 25% sessional loading plus superannuation.
- Conditions of employment will be covered by Victoria University's Vocational Teacher Enterprise Agreement 2019
