Eden Ritchie Recruitment is seeking a knowledgeable and collaborative Senior Procurement Officer to join a key Queensland Government department.
Key responsibilities
  • Partner strategically with senior managers in business divisions to deliver high quality, future-focused procurement initiatives and services that support business objectives and transformational change within the organisation.
  • Provide high-level advice and support to senior managers overseeing procurement projects specifically in the Construction and Civil Works space.
  • Provide upskilling, guidance and assistance to a small team of procurement professionals, to assist them deliver quality, best practice procurement advice and client service specifically in the Construction and Civil Works space.
  • Assist with the development of training and guidance materials specifically in the Construction and Civil Works space.
  • Provide expert advice, particularly for high-level, complex matters across a range of procurement-related areas, including contract development and management, procurement strategies, offer evaluation, and consultants/contractors.
  • Plan, design and implement strategic procurement initiatives to enhance organisational effectiveness.
  • Provide high-level support to the EDQ Procurement team and assist with the management of relationships and delivery of services.
  • Develop a range of procurement plans as required by the QPP, including the organisation’s Local Procurement Instructions specifically in the Construction and Civil Works space and ensure that these are aligned with EDQ’s strategic direction.
  • Enhance organisational and whole-of-government decision making, through appropriate collection, analysis and reporting of procurement data and statistics.
  • Market the procurement services and contribute to strengthening the capabilities of line managers in procurement and contract management across EDQ.
  • Assist with the facilitation of procurement training across EDQ when required
  • Any other procurement related tasks as required.
Mandatory requirements
Level 3 Qld government procurement certification training.
Highly desirable
  • Experience in Construction and Civil Works procurements under the Australian Standards contracting framework (AS4300 and AS2124)
  • Experience in Queensland Information Technology Contracting Framework
  • · Experience with HP Trim or HP Content Manager.
