The key duties of the position include
Applications are being sought from suitably qualified applicants wishing to be considered for the role of Procurement Officer at the AFP Band 5 level.
We are looking for a highly motivated and organised individual who is able to work effectively under limited direction to deliver Commonwealth procurement expertise to enable value for money and compliance across AFP Northern Command procurement activities.
This position will be situated within the Northern Command - Command Corporate Services Unit (CCSU) and is responsible for delivering procurement services and advice to frontline staff within Queensland. In this role you will provide advice on Commonwealth and AFP procurement and contracting processes and liaise with internal and external stakeholders on a wide variety of matters in support of national or regionally based procurement activities and oversee the Commands annual budget. You will work closely with the AFP's Central Procurement Services (CPS) team who are responsible for delivering the strategic and contract management framework for the AFP and who will support you to achieve operational outcomes through compliant and timely procurement activities.
You will also be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments.
What will you do?
- Support and assist in the delivery of contract management and procurement compliance and advisory services within the Northern Command (QLD).
- Assist with developing procurement documentation on behalf of business areas in line with Commonwealth procurement legislative frameworks, rules and guidance.
- Action transactional procurement related tasks within the financial management system.
- Review AFP procurement documentation.
- Provide administrative support relating to procurement and contract management related activities including preparing and coordinating Requests for Quote, drafting contracts and updating the AFP's Financial Management System.
- Provide budget advice in relation to procurement activities and annual Northern Command budgets.
- Advise business areas on simple procurement actions consistent with AFP procurement governance. Ensure compliance with all procurement actions for the Northern Command (QLD).
- Assist in maintaining AFP procurement governance and procurement documentation.
- Develop and maintain a contemporary knowledge of relevant Commonwealth procurement legislative frameworks, rules and guidance.
