We are looking for an experienced Sports Development Officer to join our busy team at MELBOURNE GYMNASTICS CENTRE in Windsor, VIC, 3181. MELBOURNE GYMNASTICS CENTRE is one of the most experienced and entrepreneurial teams in the industry. We operate to the highest standards, within a legal, environmental, health, and safety framework which will protect our employees, clients, and society now and in the future. We currently have vacancies for a Sports Development officer as we have consistent ongoing work, and we need reliable and hardworking individuals to join our skilled team for promoting Gymnastics.
Ideally, we are looking for a person to hit the ground running, make the space your own, and use your skills to complement our team. This is a permanent full-time position with an annual salary set at $70K-75K plus superannuation, based on experience.
Your Responsibilities:
· Assisting, supporting, mentoring athletes, fellow coaches, and judges
· Teaching and coaching all levels of athletes from beginner to advanced level
· Analysing athlete performance and creating coaching plans based on individual abilities.
· Collaborating with other coaches to provide thorough training sessions.
· Supervising competitions, ensuring athletes abide by safety protocols, and assessing the development of each athlete
· Supervising athletes while practicing and performing based on the coaching plan.
· Demonstrating techniques to help and motivate sportspersons to practice and improve.
· Developing training plans for athletes based on their performance progress and goals
· Designing training programs that can help athletes improve their skills, forms and techniques.
· Finding talented sportspersons and to guide them to enter the relevant sub field
· Recruiting players and other coaches as required.
About you:
· At least one year of experience in a similar role.
· Eligibility to work in Australia ongoing
· Must have or willing to obtain or Victorian Working with Children check (WWCC)
· Must have or willing to obtain GA WAG Advance silver or above coaching qualification
· Must have or willing to obtain FIG WAG Judging qualification
· Must have or willing to obtain First Aid & CPR qualifications
· Enjoy working in a team environment
· Willing to work with athletes from 12months to 18yrs
· Willing to work across recreational & competitive program equally
