Lucas Total Contract Solutions (Lucas TCS) is seeking an experienced Training Manager to drive the efficiency and effectiveness of our workforce development programs.

This key leadership role will oversee training across multiple sites, ensuring our operators and employees meet the highest industry standards in safety, competency, and operational excellence.

As the Training Manager, you will report directly to our General Manager - HSEC and lead our team of Plant Trainers & Assessors, as well as Site Nominated Trainers.

This will be a primarily site based role with specific roster & location based off various site requirements.

About the Role:

This position will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing training programs that support our operational teams across mining, civil, and crushing projects.

The role involves:

  • Overseeing and enhancing training programs across multiple project sites.
  • Requirement to undertake plant training on projects and conduct VOC Assessments
  • Leading and mentoring plant trainers & assessors, and site-based trainers.
  • Managing training records, site skills matrices, and competency tracking.
  • Driving continuous improvement in training methods and workforce capability.
  • Collaborating with Project Managers, Supervisors, and HSE Coordinators to optimize training strategies.
  • Ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
  • Supporting site induction programs and workforce readiness initiatives.

About You:

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40122) – mandatory.
  • Extensive experience in mobile plant operations within open-pit mining, civil, or crushing environments.
  • RII accredited tickets in relevant mobile plant.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with a passion for workforce development.
  • A strategic mindset, with the ability to optimize training programs for operational success.
  • Proficiency in IT systems, including PowerPoint and Excel.
  • A deep understanding of adult learning principles and hands-on training experience.
