About the Role
As the All Abilities Sport & Recreation Program Coordinator, you will lead an exciting initiative to empower people with disabilities to engage in inclusive sport and recreational activities. This role involves creating a welcoming hub, collaborating with stakeholders, and developing programs that bring positive change to the East Kimberley community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and manage an accessible hub in Kununurra, ensuring it meets the community’s needs.
- Design and deliver engaging sports and recreation programs for people with disabilities.
- Collaborate with existing providers to expand inclusive opportunities across the region.
- Monitor program outcomes, evaluate success, and report progress.
Requirements:
Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Social Sciences, Welfare, Community/Allied Health, or similar fields are preferred but not essential.
Experience: Strong project management, budget management, and policy development skills. Previous experience working with people with disabilities or Indigenous Australians is highly regarded.
Skills: Excellent interpersonal, communication, and time management abilities.
Other Requirements:
- A current C-Class driver’s license
- WA Working With Childrens Card
- NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain
- A National Police Certificate or wilingness to obtain
