Are you passionate about making a lasting impact on women's and girls' menstrual health in Australia and globally? This is your chance to step into an exciting role as a Principal Research Fellow and lead groundbreaking research in this crucial area. We're looking for someone with a proven track record of outstanding, internationally recognised contributions to epidemiological research at the population level in this field, including in low and middle-income countries. In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of menstrual health while also playing a key role in service and engagement, driving positive change both within and outside the research community.
Key responsibilities will include:

Maintaining a record of outstanding contributions to research into women's and girls' menstrual health and producing quality research outputs consistent with discipline norms as lead contributor, by publishing in high quality national and international research journals, other appropriate refereed publications and conference publications.

Initiating and leading funding initiatives and applications as chief investigator in applications for significant research funding to support projects and activities in women's and girls' health– this includes actively seeking, obtaining and managing research funding

Supervising students, recruiting and managing employees, providing performance feedback and training, resolving conflicts, and ensuring correct remuneration and benefits.

Developing partnerships, demonstrating leadership through mentoring, engaging in internal service roles and committees, performing administrative functions, providing support to colleagues, and upholding university values.

About You
-
Completion of a PhD in public health, evidence-based policy, epidemiology or similar area.

A sustained record of outstanding impact and achievement in research in women's and girls' health. Achievements in menstrual health will be particularly highly regarded.

International recognition in women’s and girls’ health and an excellent record of publications in reputed refereed journal and presenting at conferences.

Ability to successfully lead a research team, with an excellent record of successfully seeking, obtaining and managing significant external research funding in women’s and girls’ health from institutional and commercial sources.

An extensive record of supervision of Honours and Research Higher Degree students to successful completion.

A strong record of meaningful internal service roles in conjunction with evidence of leadership in external activities related to women’s and girls’ health.

Well-developed communication, interpersonal and consultative skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues from a multidisciplinary background.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia and education check.
