Role details

The Mental Health Inpatient Unit at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Patient Flow Coordinator (Clinical Nurse) to join their team on a temporary basis.

Your opportunity

The Clinical Nurse (Patient Flow Coordinator) provides advanced level clinical skills to ensure patient-focused evidence-based nursing care, coordinates the clinical management of patient/client care, and provides leadership and support to other nursing staff within the Mental Health Inpatient Unit.

About the Team

The Mental Health and AOD Service is comprised of eight clinical teams across the MHHS. The Mental Health Service is responsible for the provision of comprehensive, specialised mental health assessment and treatment services across the age-spectrum for people with severe and complex mental health problems. Our services aim to be consumer focused and recovery oriented and are provided in a variety of settings including community, an acute inpatient unit, hospitals and emergency departments.

has 6 hospitals, 2 multi-purpose health services and 4 community health centres that employ more than 3,700 staff. The district covers an area of approximately 90,000km2 and provides services to patients and their families in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville, Dysart, Glenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine and Sarina.
