The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
About the Division
The Operational Policy, School Engagement and Compliance (OPSEC) Division has a collective focus on reducing administrative and compliance burden for schools, improving policy and compliance support and streamlining the volume and timing of communications to schools.
About the Role
The Senior Digital Advisor role is an exciting opportunity to work in a supportive and dedicated team that is passionate about helping school leaders in the important work they do every day, through the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Department's schools Policy and Advisory Library.
Attributes
The Senior Digital Advisor must demonstrate:
* an ability to provide advice to the department about digital content requirements for operational policy, guidance and resources for schools
* experience working with content management systems including Drupal software and Microsoft SharePoint EDRMS
* the ability to manage and resolve technical issues relating to digital performance and website functionality
* analytic skills to understand and report on content and website performance and opportunities for improvement
* awareness of digital communications best practice including accessibility, information architecture, design and user experience guides
* experience editing and producing content for Government to meet digital standards and relevant style guidelines
* ability to train and guide department staff in the area of digital communications
* high-level interpersonal and collaboration skills with a strong customer service and solutions focus
* an ability to resolve disputes and influence others
* strong written communication skills, including experience with drafting complex briefs, letters, emails and reports
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
* experience working with content management systems including Drupal software and Microsoft SharePoint EDRMS.
