You’ll be able to apply our powerful global network of skills and decades of experience to create positive water outcomes that respect nature and nurture communities.

Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for a Senior Process Engineer to join our Water Group.

In Western Australia, our 90-year partnership with the water sector has cultivated strong client relationships and a deep understanding of their challenges, equipping us to assist them in preparing for what lies ahead. Our team is very well known for water infrastructure and water resources engineering and science consulting, collaborating with industry leaders like Water Authorities, major mining firms, and Defense, among others. Join us to become part of a community of innovative thinkers, uniting top talent in the field to shape a positive future of water for our communities and next generations.

The diverse role will be responsible for leading various consulting studies and process design tasks for water utilities, local government, and resources industry clients. You will be technically skilled in water/wastewater treatment projects and will exercise sound judgement and initiative while undertaking your project responsibilities.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Leading and/or contributing to multi-disciplinary, high-performance teams in the process planning and design for water & wastewater infrastructure.
  • Managing and/or delivering high quality technical outcomes autonomously and as part of a team, including investigation, analysis and design tasks to support water and wastewater treatment infrastructure throughout the design lifecycle. Depending on your interests, projects may span the municipal, industrial and resources sectors (Desalination, hydrogen, mining, etc.). This may include support of strategic initiatives like Future of Water and Future Energy.
  • Working with clients, fostering ongoing relationships to define and deliver their water and wastewater system solutions.
  • Leading and/or contributing to winning work and market-led innovative offerings.
  • Managing time and resources to achieve financial targets within projects with respect to new work and chargeable time.

What you will bring to the team:

  • A demonstrated understanding of the consulting engineering business.
  • Advanced written and verbal skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues and gain buy in to decision making.
  • A relevant qualification in Science or Engineering recognised in Australia.
  • 6 to 15 years’ experience on water/wastewater process projects.
  • Good attention to detail with the ability to deliver high quality results within budget, quality and time constraints.
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective technical networks in both client organisations and inside professional services organisations like GHD.
  • Proactive and self-motivated individual with a strong ability to work either independently, as a key team member or leading a team as the situation requires.
  • A willingness and ability to lead junior team members and mentor graduate professionals .
